We are an independent management consultancy, working across a range of sectors for clients including multinationals and household names

We help clients to achieve real and lasting change, driving through the benefits of their most critical strategies and programmes.

Our focus on delivering value and working right alongside our clients means we develop many long-term relationships. As a result, we are proud to say that over 90% of our work comes from repeat business and referrals.

From the very beginning, we have always taken a different approach to consultancy. We work within and as part of our client's leadership teams rather than looking in from the outside.

We bring ideas, challenge and experience, tailoring our approach rather than applying the same methodology again and again. We are outcomes-focused, wanting to create lasting legacies through what we deliver and the way that we work.

Trusted to deliver

We are always prepared to take a hands-on management role to ensure that change is delivered effectively. We take pride in our ability to work as an extension of our clients’ leadership teams, binding together stakeholders to drive cross- organisation activity.

Our embedded, collaborative approach enables us to assemble and manage the right team to get the job done, but we always ensure that our clients remain in control, with us providing the balance of support and constructive challenge that enables them to be effective leaders.

Designed to put our clients’ interests first

With Berkeley there is only ever one agenda, and that is our client's agenda. As an independently owned and financed consultancy with no commercial ties or alliances, we focus solely on delivering our best objective and impartial advice.

We don't have sales targets or pay bonuses that would distract us from doing what's right for our clients and we have deliberately managed our growth over the years; growing organically rather than through acquisition, to ensure the values and culture that make us different are retained.

Tackling complex challenges

We work across the full transformation lifecycle from strategy development through to delivering large-scale change programmes. Our ambition is always to be working on our clients' most complex challenges, helping them to shape and implement the changes that really matter to their business.

We deploy all-round problem solvers to partner with clients every step of the way; whether that be injecting fresh perspective to strategy setting, harnessing new technologies to effectively meet future challenges, or establishing the right organisation for operational efficiency.

In it for the long term

Long term relationships have always been at the heart of our business. Through our commitment to quality, we focus on what really matters – creating strategies and delivering programmes that will leave a lasting legacy. Transformation isn’t a throwaway consultancy term; it means making a tangible, lasting difference for our clients and helping their people to be better prepared for future challenges.

John is a Partner at Berkeley Partnership. He studied at Manchester University, leaving with two first class degrees in Engineering. His course included a great exchange year in Lille, France, although the French girlfriend experience probably left more of a mark than any of the course work. Having secured a job with Andersen Consulting, he deferred entry for a year and went travelling - to nowhere that spoke French. He started work in 1994, and spent four years in Financial Services (mostly working with trading and surveillance systems at the London Stock Exchange) followed by seven years in Energy & Utilities working with pioneering mobile and wireless solutions for work and asset management.

Richard is a Partner at Berkeley Partnership. After studying Psychology at Southampton University I began my career in management consultancy at Accenture, working with an exciting mix of clients and tackling complex business problems. After almost 9 years with Accenture I joined The Berkeley Partnership in 2013, attracted by the range of assignments and the opportunity to work across different industry sectors. Throughout his career he has been lucky to work for a wide range of clients in the Government, Media, Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals and Retail sectors. He has significant experience in large project and programme management with a particular focus on ERP system implementation. Over the last 5 years he has been fortunate enough to work for some fantastic retailers, supporting them with the delivery of their most challenging change initiatives.

Mark is a Partner at Berkeley Partnership. Having graduated from Leeds University with a degree in Economics, he started his career in the insurance industry in the City. A move out of IT management into marketing was stymied when the business he was working for was taken over. Plan B was a career shift into consulting. A few years later he was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time to form Berkeley with four other colleagues. Since they set the firm up he has worked with many different clients across a range of sectors, including Unilever, Burberry, and AstraZeneca. He has also spent quite a lot of time back in the insurance industry, including taking on a couple of interim CIO roles. Whilst he has worked across the full range of strategy and delivery projects, he has a particular interest in change management and organisational design and development.
