Sir Roger Carr is Chairman of BAE Systems plc and a Senior Advisor to KKR. In addition, he is Chairman of the English National Ballet, a Vice President of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, a Trustee of Bletchley Park and a Visiting Fellow of Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. He has previously held a number of senior appointments including Chairman of Centrica plc, Vice Chairman of the BBC Trust, Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director of the Court of the Bank of England, President of the Confederation of British Industry, Chairman of Cadbury plc, Chairman of Chubb plc, Chairman of Mitchells & Butlers plc, Chairman of Thames Water plc and Chief Executive of Williams plc.

Group Chief Executive Officer

Charles is Group Chief Executive Officer of BAE Systems plc. He joined BAE Systems in May 2016 as Chief Operating Officer, Executive Director on the BAE Systems plc Board of Directors, Director on the BAE Systems, Inc. Board of Directors and became Group Chief Executive Officer on 1st July 2017. Previously, Charles held a number of senior management positions in the oil and gas industry including Chief Executive Officer of Expro Group, an oilfield services business. During a 15-year career with Schlumberger, Charles worked in the Far East, Australia, France and the US. Charles holds a First Class Honours Degree in Electrical Sciences and a PhD in Engineering from Cambridge University. He also holds an MBA from Erasmus University, Rotterdam and is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering.

Career story: Brad joined BAE Systems as Group Finance Director Designate in September 2019, becoming Group Finance Director and joining the BAE Systems plc Board on 1 April 2020. Brad has a 30 year career in the energy sector with Schlumberger, holding roles including the Head of Finance for the group of companies called Wells which accounted for nearly 70% of the company’s overall profit. He also served as Director of Internal Audit, in addition to numerous other Finance Director roles in a career which included assignments in UK, Romania, Nigeria, Italy, France, Brazil and the United States. Brad was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and has an MBA from the London Business School and a Finance degree from SMU in Dallas, Texas. When not at work: Brad enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, tennis, photography, music, and travel.

Tom Arseneault is president and CEO of BAE Systems, Inc., the company’s U.S.-based, international defense, aerospace, and security company with more than 35,000 employees and major operations in the U.S., UK, and Sweden. Ranking among the top 10 prime contractors to the U.S. Department of Defense, the company generated sales revenues of nearly $11.5 billion in 2019, delivering a full range of products and services across a broad & diverse portfolio for air, land and naval forces. Arseneault is also an executive director on the BAE Systems plc Board of Directors, a member of the company’s Executive Committee, and an officer director on the BAE Systems. Prior to his senior leadership appointments, Arseneault managed various organizations & programs for Sanders, a Lockheed Martin Company, and he remained when it was acquired by BAE Systems in 2000

As a tier one partner on the F-35, BAE Systems’ global enterprise delivers almost 15% of each of the 3,000-plus aircraft which will make up the worldwide fleet ordered by air forces from 11 different nations. From our electronic systems business in the United States, which delivers the electronic warfare suites for the jets, to our United Kingdom business which uses advanced manufacturing to produce the rear section of every aircraft, and our business in Australia which is a key partner in the sustainment of the F-35, our people have a role in the development, production and sustainment of the global fleet.
