Our business is that of a technical consultancy, and we provide advice and engineering design for public, regulated and private sector clients. The multidisciplinary nature of our skills allows us to draw on expertise from across the business to deliver complex projects both in the UK and in support of our other businesses overseas. We deliver engineering and technically integrated design, together with project and cost management services, to a wide range of clients.

Our projects vary in size, scope and scale, and include planning, designing and managing programs across transportation, water, defence, energy, aerospace and infrastructure. Philip Hoare

President of Atkins

Philip Hoare is President of Atkins, SNC-Lavalin’s Engineering, Design & Project Management sector. He is responsible for the company’s infrastructure engineering and design services around the world. He is a member of the Executive Committee of SNC-Lavalin. Philip joined SNC-Lavalin following the 2017 Atkins acquisition, but has been with Atkins since 1997. Philip has also held a number of positions across the industry including roles on the Boards of the Railway Industry Association, the Rail Supply Group, the Defence Growth Partnership and the National College of High Speed Rail. He has also held positions as the Chair of the Highways Term Maintenance Association and as a Non-Executive Director of the Rail Safety and Standards Board.

Chief Executive Officer, Atkins UK & Europe

Richard Robinson is the CEO of Atkins, UK and Europe region, responsible for leading its 10,000 strong team and operations across multiple transportation, infrastructure, building and industrial markets. A Chartered Chemical Engineer, Richard was previously Chief Operating Officer at HS2 and has also held senior leadership roles at AECOM, BAA Heathrow, and Anglo American after his early career at ICI. Richard has led transformational levels of growth in mature sectors throughout his career and is passionate about unleashing the full capabilities of every member of staff to drive excellence for clients. He joins Atkins on 4 November 2019 and will be based at the company’s European headquarters at Nova North in London.

David Cole

Market Director, Atkins Energy UK & Europe

David is Market Director in Atkins UK and Europe Energy business for power generation assets covering nuclear and conventional power assets, transmission and distribution and energy storage. David is both a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and a Chartered Scientist, with a strong general power generation background (nuclear and conventional) and expertise in engineering metallurgy, boilers, turbines and rotating plant technology. He has worked on and led power and petrochemical plant projects involving asset management, plant life extension, root cause failure investigations, repair procedures, auditing of overhauls, damage and defect assessments and shutdown management. Over the last few years he has focused on business leadership and management.

PR & Communications Manager, Atkins UK & Europe

Alicia is an experienced PR & Digital Communications Manager at Atkins UK & Europe, based in Bristol. Previously based in UAE with Atkins. Her current role includes external communications, media relations, client communications and public affairs, graphic design and social media - with a focus on nuclear, offshore wind, transportation, and oil and gas sectors. She has ten years’ experience in journalism, copywriting, marketing, event management, HR projects, and external/internal communications in: Bahrain, UAE, France and UK. She covers areas including: Net Zero, private security, oil and gas, offshore wind/renewables, nuclear, transportation, diversity and inclusion, and hostile environments.
